6 Ups And 7 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (March 25)

5. Angle Pulls A Rabbit

There’s no way that Kurt Angle should have defeated the United States Champion Monday night, but the Olympic gold medalist was able to eke out a victory on Raw, defeating Samoa Joe.

Angle clearly has lost a step, but he managed to hang in there and reverse a Coquina Clutch for the win. The match itself was pretty straightforward, with Angle’s specialties on display: German suplexes, Angle Slam, anklelock attempts.

This little retirement tour might be nostalgia, but it’s a nice way to close out a wrestling career that was unparalleled. Taking down a couple of his longstanding feuds outside WWE (Joe and AJ Styles on SmackDown) is one great way to go out.
