6 Ups And 7 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (May 11th)
6. PPV Overload
On the one hand, its nice to see WWE trying to push the Network hard by offering lots of exclusive, original content on it. In addition to the monthly PPVs, they have begun offering wrestling specials to lure in fans. But the move has resulted in an incredible over-saturation almost never seen before in less than a two-month span. Beginning with Extreme Rules on April 27 and wrapping up on May 31, WWE will have held three PPV and a Network special King of the Ring tournament semifinals and finals. Payback will take place on Sunday with a three-week build, and now it was announced Monday that WWE is bringing back the Elimination Chamber PPV at the end of the month, just two weeks after Payback. If you take into account that Money in the Bank is scheduled for June 14, that would make for four PPVs in a seven-week span. That probably has never happened before in WWE history, and thats probably for good reason. Between all of that and Raw and Smackdown, how burned out are fans going to get?
