3. Interesting Strategy

WWE did something counter-intuitive to its normal process Monday night.

Brock Lesnar came out with Paul Heyman and the Money in the Bank briefcase in tow, bragging about how whenever the two world champions appear at a live event, they’re vulnerable (even though we know Lesnar won’t show up at a random house show in West Virginia).

But rather than have the champs cower or acknowledge that Brock is dangerous, Seth Rollins and then Kofi Kingston came out and begged Lesnar to cash in MITB on each of them to cement their legacies as champs, and to put the uncertainty of the briefcase out of its misery.

It’s a little backwards, as Heyman noted, but it worked in this situation, going right at the briefcase-holder and daring him to cash in on them.
