6 Ups And 7 Downs From WWE Raw (July 6)

5. Manager Gets The Title Shot?

If this is going to factor into things later, then we’ll excuse it, but otherwise, this just doesn’t make sense.

Why is MVP getting the title shots while his charge Bobby Lashley does the dirty work? At the PPV later this month, MVP is challenging Apollo Crews for the United States Championship. But wouldn’t a good manager be looking to get his client a title match? Lashley challenged Drew McIntyre for the WWE Championship last month, but since then, he’s been his manager’s muscle as MVP has positioned himself in line for the US title.

This does somewhat fit the old MVP character of getting for himself, but it seems to run counter to what he should be doing, and what Lashley would want right now. Wouldn’t Lashley want a title match?

This could very well end up with MVP losing to Crews, and then Lashley immediately challenging and winning the title. Or it could be a situation with Lashley realizing that MVP is a glory hound who’s using him. But that relies on WWE using forethought, which they aren’t known for. Hence, a tentative “down” here.
