6. Owens’ False Patriotism

How could you not love Kevin Owens and Kurt Angle’s confrontation backstage?

Owens had just interfered in the Finn Balor/Braun Strowman match and escaped being flattened by a Braun-thrown ladder, so he understandably was in a rush trying to leave Raw. He berated a valet to get his keys, when GM Angle asked why he was leaving.

Without a hint of irony, KO said he was trying to make it to a Memorial Day parade to see the fireworks. Fortunately, the Olympic Gold Medalist wasn’t buying it, noting that Owens doesn’t care about an American holiday like that – he’s Canadian.

It was a short, humorous encounter that played to both men’s strengths and provided a little entertainment.
