6 Ups And 8 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (March 28th)

3. Short, Meaningless Matches

The preview column wondered whether WWE would play it safe in the ring Monday night by not taking any risks and just doing the basics in matches. It looks like the assumption was right €“ to an extent.

Yes, the wrestlers mostly played it safe (aside from a Roman Reigns no-hands tope and a few high-flying moves), but they also played it so safe that the matches were just short, boring and forgettable. Consider: Zack Ryder rolled up Chris Jericho; Social Outcasts got DQ€™d; Kofi Kingston rolled up Alberto Del Rio; and Paige/Emma ended with a schmozz and outside interference.

Nothing of note happened in these matches, as wrestlers attempted to wrap up their storylines, with only Chris Jericho/AJ Styles still €œup in the air€ as far as a confirmed match going into Monday.

If you€™re a fan of the in-ring product, Monday was probably the easiest night to skip Raw in quite some time.
