6 Ups And 8 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (March 28th)
2. Uh-Oh
Give credit to WWE for one thing: The company has clearly recognized that Roman Reigns is not going to be cheered during long, drawn-out promos espousing why he will be the next world champion. So rather than giving him the microphone and 10 minutes to fill, WWE has let him focus on beat-downs and raw aggression.
But heres the problem: The Brooklyn crowd still booed Roman Monday night, after Triple H and Stephanie McMahon spent a great deal of time insulting the crowd and talking about how great they were. They booed when Reigns punched and cheered when Hunter swung fists. They started a Roman sucks! chant. All of this came on the go-home Raw before Reigns is supposed to walk into WrestleMania as the underdog hero.
Its clear WWE realizes theres a problem, but trying to use smoke and mirrors to hide the problem clearly isnt going to work. Fans arent even falling for, Hey, Romans beating up the guy who just called us idiots! Thats not good.
