6 Ups And 8 Downs From WWE Crown Jewel 2019

4. Home Country Advantage

When it was announced that Cesaro and Mansoor were having a match in Mansoor’s home country and hometown, you kinda knew what was going to happen.

The good thing is that Mansoor was up to the task of having a perfectly solid match with Cesaro, as the two traded bombs and near-falls throughout the match. Mansoor clearly is still young inside the ring, but he hung with the Swiss Superman well, unloading a standing moonsault, tornado DDT and diving crossbody as part of his arsenal.

In the end, Mansoor hit a superkick, sunset powerbomb and a moonsault for the upset win. The best part about this though was Michael Cole & Corey Graves actually selling this perfectly on commentary – how overmatched he was, the significance of fighting in his home country, how big of a deal it was to win.

Good storytelling can be a huge difference-maker, and considering how poor WWE announcers are at it typically, when they do it well, it should get a shout-out.
