6 Ups And 8 Downs From WWE Crown Jewel 2019

Battle royals often are just time and space-fillers. The match quality isn’t great, and unless something is on the line, there isn’t much to crow about afterward.

The Crown Jewel battle royal was marked by one notable thing: the utter dominance by Erick Rowan and Luke Harper. The duo combined to eliminate 11 of the 19 wrestlers tossed, with Rowan tossing two men from the apron early on during an elimination scare himself.

Eliminations in battle royals don’t often count for much, but making someone look strong rather than doing a one-for-one elimination where no one stands out is preferable. If WWE wants to play this up on SmackDown Friday or Raw on Monday, they absolutely can.

They probably won’t, but we’ll give the credit and see if they shock us.
