6 Ups And 8 Downs From WWE Elimination Chamber 2015
5. Thanks For Coming Mark
Although no official announcement was made prior to Elimination Chamber, it was pretty obvious that Rusev was not going to compete in the Intercontinental Championship chamber match. The question that remained was who was going to take his spot in the six-man bout. Rather than do a qualifying match during the preshow or have the Authority slot someone to be their guy, WWE sent Mark Henry out to fight. Nothing against Mark Henry, who is a great hand to have on the roster, but someone who has competed in exactly two televised matches since WrestleMania (and only four all year) had less business being in an IC title match than R-Truth. As if to illustrate the point, what did Henry do in the match? He spent most of it lying on the mat, hitting only a couple power moves before being eliminated. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0LrfKw3q1n8 At this stage in his career, Henry either should be pushed one last time as a monster (if hes got it in the tank) or be the big guy on the apron in a tag team, which could prolong his career by quite a bit. Hes a good guy to have around, but for a surprise entrant into the Elimination Chamber match, he added so little that the sixth man could have been Heath Slater with little difference.
