6 Ups And 8 Downs From WWE Raw 25

3. Women Get Small Spotlight

For all the talk about the women’s evolution, WWE certainly didn’t give its female legends much of a platform Monday night. And considering that the first all-woman Royal Rumble on Sunday is only about two-thirds filled, that really seems like a missed opportunity.

During Raw, WWE brought out several women as some of the top female superstars in WWE history (nevermind Raw’s 25-year history). This included the likes of Trish Stratus and the Bella twins, as well as Maryse, Kelly Kelly, Torrie Wilson, Michelle McCool and Terri Runnels.

First off, calling Kelly Kelly and Terri as some of the biggest female stars when Ivory, Beth Phoenix, Molly Holly and Lita aren’t there is a bit of a stretch. Additionally, with at least 10 slots left open in the women’s Rumble, wouldn’t it have been a great opportunity for a few of these women to announce that they were entering the match?

Sure, you want to keep a few spots as surprises, but if, say, Kelly Kelly is entering the Rumble, would it have hurt if she declared it in a backstage segment? It would’ve been more impactful than just waving to the crowd.
