6 Ups And 9 Downs From WWE Battleground 2016

8. Becky Lynch, Human Punching Bag

Poor Becky Lynch. Fans seem to love her, she shows great fire and is extremely competent in the ring. And yet, she is the proverbial stepping stone for other wrestlers. Either she’s getting turned on, or she’s just losing matches.

Sunday, Lynch fell victim to Natalya, who was fresh off a much-needed heel turn. Nattie had become pretty stale as a character, so she turned on Becky and began lashing out against her former friend. She did a nice job taunting Lynch and mocking her to the fans, and Nattie also was ruthless in attacking Becky’s injured knee.

As much as Becky is the younger performer with a bright future, Natalya needed a good win to help establish her villainous character. Losing a big match right out of the gate would have done her no favors. Still, it’s disappointing to see Becky trying to stand up for herself and constantly getting stepped on.
