Consistency in professional wrestling storytelling is a luxury, not the norm, but a little dose of it now and then really helps. In the case of the New Day/Wyatt Family feud, any consistency would be essential to make the rivalry make sense.

As it stands, we’re supposed to believe that Xavier Woods came under Bray Wyatt’s spell, but then joined his New Day teammates in a brawl at the Wyatt compound, a fight that was supposed to change the trio forever – yet they were back to their jovial selves a week later. Woods again appeared transfixed by Bray, but broke out of it long enough to take on all three members of the family, only to fall under Wyatt’s spell again and get pinned.

And now, New Day and Bray are on separate shows, so that’s (presumably) that. So what’s been resolved? New Day lost a six-man tag match because they were “scared” of the Wyatts (or at least one member was) and that’s it. This could have been and should be a much better feud between two interesting stables, but instead it’s more a relief that this should be over.

At least it was good to see Woods on offense for a change.
