The moment that we opened No Mercy with the WWE World Championship title match, many would have assumed which match would be the main event, but many would have been wrong. Simply put, just listen to the crowd. Hands down, Dolph Ziggler versus The Miz should have closed out the PPV.

Ziggler and Miz had fans buying into every false finish, especially with Dolph’s career on the line. His ultimate victory got a huge reaction from fans and would have made for a memorable close to the event. Instead, we got a plodding main event with Randy Orton taking on Bray Wyatt in a match continuing a feud described as “mind games.” Orton and Wyatt had a decent bout, but there really was no comparison to what fans were into more.

Sometimes, the matches with the most “star power” isn’t the biggest match on the card. WWE should know that by now, and this certainly was the case Sunday night.
