Randy Orton and Bray Wyatt are both very talented wrestlers who are capable of putting on captivating matches. But what they put on Sunday night in the No Mercy main event was anything but.

Orton and Wyatt had a dull, plodding, sloppy match that only got interesting when the lights went out. (And a guy not in the match got the biggest reaction.) They traded multiple attempts at finishing moves and other signature moves but didn’t hit a lot of high-impact moves until halfway through the match. Even then, it was sloppy at times and certainly wasn’t captivating.

This followed backstage segments that did nothing to build the match, only to remind us that both men had played mind games on the other and that they were going to settle it in the ring… and then Wyatt resorted to his usual lights-out trick to win, so nothing was really resolved. The feud – and presumably the “mind games” – will continue.
