6 Ups And 9 Downs From WWE Raw (Dec 2)

Downs...

9. Does Anyone Care About Rowan?

Eric Rowan No Way Jose

Spoiler alert: No.

Despite all the negatives lavished upon Vince Russo about his phrenetic booking style during the Attitude Era, one thing that was always lauded was how he gave everyone on the roster – including and especially the mid-card wrestlers – something to do, a storyline of sorts.

Unfortunately, what stands for a mid-card wrestler’s storyline right now is Erick Rowan – a monster who beat Roman Reigns this fall – sweet-talking an unseen pet that he carries to the ring under a burlap cover. He loses his mind when idiotic jobbers (or conga line dancers) try to peek.

And all the while, the scene plays out to silence.

Unless the reveal is incredible (and really, with WWE’s writing these days, what are the chances?), this is going to bomb something fierce, and it will leave Rowan looking like a moron.
