6 Ups And 9 Downs From WWE Raw (Dec 2)

8. Eric Young, Generic Wrestler #47

If you ever followed Eric Young’s career in TNA or NXT, you know he found ways to stand out.

That’s why seeing him during his very rare appearances on Raw are so jarring.

In NXT (and on SmackDown for a brief period), Young led the faction Sanity, decked out in mismatched boots and ragged attire, sporting a long, wild beard. He looked unique and distinctive, which for a guy of his smaller size and build, was important to standing out.

Fast-forward to his tenure on Raw, where he is completely cleanshaven and wearing plain black trunks. He seriously could be any wrestler out there. Hell, half the local talent that gets plucked to be cannon-fodder on Raw are more distinctive-looking than Eric Young is today.

It’s just confusing to see a contracted superstar looking so generic that if they didn’t identify him, half the viewing audience would have no idea who it was.
