3. Cena Runs Over AxelMania
This is where you run to the WWE Network and watch Vince McMahon talk about wrestlers reaching for the brass ring and how you have to listen to the fans, and then slap your forehead and groan. Curtis Axel has been little more than a joke since his days as a Paul Heyman guy. Hes lost nearly every match hes been in, and then he had the dubious distinction of being knocked out of the 2015 Royal Rumble without ever entering it. Somehow, Axel managed to turn that embarrassment into an angle that actually has legs he never was eliminated from the Rumble, so he must still be going strong 35-plus days later. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2s-LBQUmJro Axel even has a hashtag, a T-shirt, an interesting persona and a cool/funny catchphrase: Often imitated, never eliminated. He got a pretty good reaction from the New Jersey faithful Monday night. So how did WWE treat this door opening for Axel, where he could actually get an ounce of notoriety? John Cena squashed him like a bug in under a minute, flushing everything that happened in the five minutes prior. Thatll teach Axel to reach for that brass ring.
