6 Ups And Downs For Last Night's WWE Raw (March 2nd)

1. Intercontinental Scrum

Remember how Ricky €œThe Dragon€ Steamboat stole the Intercontinental Championship and beat €œMacho Man€ Randy Savage several times in non-title matches en route to his inspiring title win at WrestleMania III? No? That€™s because that would have been the worst possible build to a title match anyone would want to see. Now add four additional challengers and have the title belt passed around amongst all six men and you have the Intercontinental Championship ladder match at WrestleMania Play Button. It€™s really a shame, because there are some really good wrestlers involved in this match. Aside from R-Truth, the other five (Bad News Barrett, Dolph Ziggler, Dean Ambrose, Daniel Bryan and Luke Harper) all can deliver in the ring. On paper, this could be a really good match. And had this been booked properly, it could have been a match people would want to see while elevating the IC title as something prestigious and desirable. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oLFq1xeE9MU Instead, the championship is a prop that gets passed around in near comedy segments like a hot potato. It€™s like the Hardcore Championship without the actual title changes.
