6 Ups And Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Feb 9)

1. YEStleMania II Is A Go

Regardless of rumors and reports along these lines, the moment that Roman Reigns speared Daniel Bryan to close out Raw, it should have become apparent that Bryan is going to WrestleMania XXXI and very well could win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship again. Don€™t believe it? Consider this: Bryan is one the biggest babyfaces in the company. Is there any chance that Reigns gets cheered after spearing him? WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar is the unbeatable monster who has run over everyone during the past year-plus. Would anyone buy Reigns taking him down at this point? (Not to say that fans would have accepted that premise before Monday night, but a fair question.) No, Reigns is likely pulling a Batista and turning. The seeds were actually being sown earlier in the program during the initial Bryan/Reigns tag match. While Bryan was being beaten down by Big Show, Roman could be seen in the background rolling his eyes, shrugging his shoulders and getting frustrated with Bryan not making the tag. When Reigns tagged himself in at the end of the main event, that signaled his transition. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FhobuWZre6g WWE can€™t be foolish enough to think that positioning Reigns firmly against Bryan in that manner will leave him to being cheered at Mania, so that means that Bryan has to be in the title match. (The only way it could have worked would have been a straight respect feud with Bryan shaking Reigns' hand afterward.) Lesnar isn€™t going to be the face, so fans need someone to cheer. It doesn€™t necessarily mean that Bryan is going to walk out of San Francisco as world champion, but this should signal that Daniel Bryan will once again by popular demand be added to the main event of WrestleMania. Of course, this is WWE, so that could change by next week.
