6 Ups And Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Jan 12th)
2. Fairytale Becomes A Nightmare
If indeed Vince McMahon is helping write Roman Reigns promos because he believes that Reigns is the next big thing, then Vince needs to be stopped or else Roman is going to be a footnote, not a cornerstone. Monday, Reigns and Big Show engaged in an argument over who was a loser. They used the word loser at least a half-dozen times, as if that was the worst insult they could throw at each other. Reigns decided to take Shows self-reference as a giant and turn it into a retelling of Jack and the Beanstalk, complete with a sing-song rhythm. Again, how does this help anyone? Roman actually started out strong, questioning why Show left the ring, then mocking the fact that he was 12 when Big Show won the WCW World Championship in 1995 (actually, he was 10, but cut Reigns some slack). That could have been an interesting path to go down, talking about how Show had his day as the Giant of professional wrestling, but his day had passed and Reigns was here to slay the Giant. But by all means, lets retell a fairytale to appeal to the 6-year-olds in the audience.
