6 Ups And Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Dec 29)

3. DQ-A-Palooza

One thing WWE delivered on Monday night was several PPV-quality matches. Fans were treated to lengthy battles such as Dolph Ziggler versus Rusev and Seth Rollins versus Roman Reigns. Both of these bouts would easily work on just about any pay-per-view, but since they were free on Raw, we got 10-plus minutes for each before DQ finishes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JKxRwyjH1mg The disqualifications were understandable given that WWE didn€™t want any of the four losing right now, but if that was the case, why book the matches in the first place? This is especially true when you consider that both matches existed merely to further two existing angles (Rusev versus Ryback and Reigns versus Big Show). So WWE burned two PPV-quality matchups to continue other feuds, one of which fans are looking forward to as much as a root canal. Kudos.

Monday nights in the Carlson household are reserved for viewing Raw -- for better or worse.
