6 Ways Sheamus Can Resurrect His WWE Career In 2015
6. Turn Heel
As we alluded to previously, Sheamus' best work with WWE came in his first two years on the main roster. During this time, he was presented as a physically dominating heel, a vicious thug who loved to fight and didn't care how many bodies he left in his wake. He even 'retired' Jamie Noble after power-bombing him outside the ring, which is a particularly dastardly notch on a wrestling bad guy's belt (Noble actually retired from in-ring competition due to mounting injuries and began working as a producer before making his comeback on TV this year as part of J & J Security). His initial heel run saw Sheamus capture the WWE Championship twice, United States Title once and he even won the sporadically held King Of The Ring tournament in 2010. He fought Triple H in one of the top matches at Wrestlemania 26 and generally ran roughshod over most of the roster. Sheamus was entirely convincing as a heel, with his unique look and powerful physique, coupled with his prowess in the ring and commendable microphone skills making him a mainstay in the main event scene. If Sheamus was to use his current time off to try and rediscover that killer instinct he exhibited as a heel, and WWE were to pull the trigger upon his return (as, to be fair, it has long been rumoured they have been considering doing for months), his ascent back to the top level of WWE shouldn't take very long. It would be very simple to get the audience back onside: a few brutal attacks on popular babyfaces like Dolph Ziggler or Dean Ambrose and the WWE Universe would have an intimidating villain to boo again.
