6 Wrestlers Who Have Quit WWE In 2019

4. Rhyno

Out of absolutely nowhere - some six months after concluding his business in Impact - Rhyno crashed through the walls of Full Sail in 2015 for an NXT appearance paradoxically incongruous and in-keeping with the brand's remit. Though not as old as his context as an ECW legend suggested - he was only 39 at the time - Rhyno was not exactly an up-and-coming talent being groomed for superstardom. But at the same time, his vast experience and credibility could give the rub to precisely that. Somehow, it made sense.

What didn't make sense was not only Rhyno's subsequent promotion to SmackDown, but his victory alongside Heath Slater as the blue brand's inaugural tag team champion. Especially as, ultimately, it was the apogee of his renewed relevancy. Indeed, so meaningless did Rhyno ultimately become that he reneged on a contract renewal this July so that he could wrestle more - in spite of WWE offering double his downside guarantee. He's since returned to Impact.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
