6 Wrestling Moves That Need To Make A Comeback
1. Atomic Drop
There are some pains that are universally accepted as beyond the comprehension of those who've not felt them: childbirth, root canals, and a swift blow to the groin. It's that last one that we're going to be looking at here.
Currently the wrestling version of a low blow involves one wrestler dropping to their knees and then reaching up between their opponent's legs and touching the small of their back, with their bicep presumably doing all the damage.
In days of yore, the Atomic Drop saw a wrestler grabbed from behind and lifted high into the air then planted tailbone first onto the knee of their opponent. But it was the Inverted Atomic Drop that left legions of little boys around the globe wincing at an unimaginable pain. Here, the wrestler was lifted while still facing their opponent and, when they came down on that knee, it definitely connected with the groin.
Offering a way to quickly stun the opponent or hit a somehow legal low blow, the Atomic Drops wouldn't be out of place in the repertoires of faces, heels, or tweeners alike.
