6 Wrestling Moves That Need To Make A Comeback

2. Bulldog

The Bulldog is a simple move. You wrap your opponent in a headlock then start running and throw yourself forwards to the mat, driving their head into the canvas with all your body weight behind it. It looks painful and signifies control over the opponent. Rarely used as a finisher (even by the British Bulldog, although it could be argued nobody was hit by it quite like him in the Summerslam 92 match with Bret Hart) the bulldog often marked a turning point in a match.

Moves could be reversed into the headlock and quickly transition into the bulldog in order to swap momentum. Jericho even turned an off the ropes charge into a less-believable but well-protected one-handed bulldog. A favourite of man fans is when smaller wrestlers would perform a flying one from the top or middle ropes, using their momentum and bodyweight to add more impact and take control back from a stronger opponent.

With so many smaller wrestlers making their main roster debuts and facing the giants that Vince loves so much, it's time for the bulldog to make a comeback as the ultimate evener of odds.

After hearing that you are what you eat, Mik took a good hard look at his diet and realised he might just be a szechuan spare rib alongside prawn fried rice.
