A number of people probably believe that WWE will have lost interest in the Cruiserweight scene by the time WrestleMania 33 comes around, but I am not one of them. The Showcase of the Immortals will be a great opportunity for them to showcase their ability on the grandest stage of them all, and as a result there would need to be story alongside match quality.

To decide a #1 Contender for the show Mick Foley should take a leaf out of TNA's book (yes), and announce a five man round robin tournament to decide the man to face TJ Perkins at Mania. The men involved would be Kendrick, Swann, Neville, Cedric Alexander and recent RAW arrival Kalisto.

Somehow, someway, Kendrick would qualify for the final of the series, defying all those who assumed Neville vs. Kalisto was a shoo-in for that spot. Even more remarkably Kendrick would win the entire series, becoming the #1 Contender for the Cruiserweight Championship at WrestleMania 33.

Six months after being the first championship match for the new title, TJ Perkins vs. Brian Kendrick for the Cruiserweight Championship is signed for WrestleMania 33.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
