6 WWE Returns That Could Still Be Good Business

5. Rey Mysterio

It's difficult to assess the impact that a Rey Mysterio return would truly have, given that it's only been a couple of years since he left the WWE and he didn't exactly set the company alight during the latter years of his tenure. Given the recent departure of Alberto Del Rio and the company's seeming inability to build up another luchador such as Kalisto, however, they are lacking talents that can appeal to the huge Hispanic market.

Mysterio is currently performing in Lucha Underground, which certainly appeals to that market and is garnering a considerable amount of buzz for the quality of its product. Ultimately though, it is far removed from the worldwide appeal of the WWE given its limited exposure on the El Rey network, and you'd have to think that the 41 year old might jump at the opportunity to return to his old stomping grounds, assuming that the differences that led to his departure could be resolved.

The cruiserweight division could provide the perfect platform for him to do so. Athough Mysterio's age and history of injuries now limit the high-flying style that made him famous, he could lend star power to a division that has been struggling since its reestablishment, largely as a result of uninspired booking and a lack of storylines for the talents within it.

It remains to be seen whether the cruiserweights will now be taken off of Raw and moved to the newly announced '205 Live' show on the WWE Network. Regardless of where they perform, the presence of a three-time Cruiserweight Champion to guide them could only be a good thing going forward.
