6 WWE Stars That Surprisingly Weren't Blacklisted for Bad Behavior
3. Edge
Most of the time, an inter-office romance is enough to get one or both employees fired if anyone ever finds out. In the case of Edge and Lita, not only did their coworkers find out, but their boss decided to use the new romance as a storyline on WWE television. It all went down like this: for many years, Matt Hardy and Lita were a real couple on and off-screen.
Even though the brand split banished Hardy to SmackDown, he made it a point to get switched to Monday nights so he and Lita were both on Raw. However, when Matt damaged his knee and had to take time off to recover, Lita got even closer to her pal Edge. The two wound up having an affair.
For one hot minute, Hardy was fired because between him and Edge, The Rated-R Superstar was the bigger draw. However, he was brought back to work a heartbreaking, gut-wrenching storyline with both Edge and his ex. Supposedly Hardy was the one who greenlighted the idea, so don't feel too bad for him.
This feud, so fueled by real life personal animosity, produced some of the best matches of both men's careers. In the end, Hardy withered away and quit while Edge's momentum kept going as he amassed up to 11 world championship reigns before a life-threatening neck injury prematurely ended his career in 2011.
WWE proved once again that cheaters do prosper in this company.
