Hardly the most significant opponent of Joe's past, but certainly a crucial figure in his future, NXT Champion (and recent conqueror of John Cena) Kevin Owens has clashed with the Samoan before. Their careers in ROH didn't overlap, but the pair met in other indie promotions, most notably cult California-based indie promotion Pro Wrestling Guerrilla. The pair clashed for the PWG World Championship during the first of Owens' three reigns - although he was then known as Kevin Steen - and showcased uncanny agility and speed for such a large pair of men. NXT fans will be hoping to see the pair follow up on their heated exchange earlier this month, although Owens' recent win over Cena could see him move permanently to the main roster.
