4. Shortest And Longest Matches

TLC matches are rarely short affairs. Since many of the spots require a lot of setup time (and then recovery time selling the move afterward), they tend to last a little on the longer end. No, nothing has approached the 47-minute Hell in a Cell epic with Triple H and Shawn Michaels, but the gimmick does require some time.

The longest TLC match took place at Tables, Ladders and Chairs l2017 between Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins & Kurt Angle versus Braun Strowman, The Miz, Kane, Cesaro & Sheamus at 35:25. That bested the former record-holder, the 2016 TLC match between AJ Styles and Dean Ambrose, by nearly four minutes. The majority of TLC matches – 14 of the 21 – have lasted more than 20 minutes.

However, the shortest TLC match on record was a Miz title defense against Jerry Lawler that lasted just under 12 minutes on Raw in 2010. Since we’re counting it in our totals, we should add the 2014 WeeLC match between El Torito and Hornswoggle, which clocked in at under 11 minutes. It wasn’t a TLC match in the typical sense, but we’ll note it here since it’s calculated into our overall totals.
