That Superman Punch has got to go...

Contrary to popular belief, Roman Reigns is neither the devil himself nor the worst performer to ever lace up a pair of boots. The guy can wrestle. Just look at matches he's had against everyone from AJ Styles and Rusev to Braun Strowman and John Cena for evidence of that.

That last name is fitting, because Reigns is so often compared to 'Super Cena' by his critics. This stems from WWE's own attempt to turn Roman into Cena-lite in 2015, a move that didn't work and only exacerbated ill-will towards him after winning the Royal Rumble. Annoyingly, some of these traits are still prevalent in 2018, and that's (partly) down to Roman's own refusal to adapt.

WWE would like to use the excuse that Reigns needs more time to 'connect with the core audience', but the truth is that his in-ring work needs some attention. Reigns just doesn't wrestle in a style that fits his character or the fan's own reactions towards him.

Believe that...
