There's no duo in WWE that had the longevity of these two when they were together. Even though Bearer wasn't brought in immediately after Undertaker debuted in WWE, he was there from nearly the beginning of his career for about six years before he ultimately turned on him. They reunited several times over the years as well. Since The Undertaker was originally a character that didn't talk a whole lot, he needed a manager. They tried the likes of Brother Love and Ted Dibiase, but they didn't really fit in with Undertaker. Bearer did. He was the perfect man for the job. What was great about this union was that they thrived together when Undertaker started as a heel, then when he became a face Bearer was there with him and when the time was right to turn that worked well too with the likes of Mankind and later Kane. When Undertaker went heel again in the late 1990s, Bearer was at his side again. In 2004, when Undertaker returned as the "Deadman" he did so with Bearer. It was fitting this year at the Hall of Fame when Undertaker paid tribute to his late friend by giving him the salute on his knee. It was as if we could hear Bearer saying "oh yes" in reply to it. There's no better wrestler and manager duo than The Undertaker with Paul Bearer.
