7 Big Questions Raised By GFW's Latest Financial Meltdown
5. Who's In Charge Of Creative Now?
Jeff Jarrett has served as GFW's Chief Creative Officer since January. He's in charge of the company's booking team, and personally brought his long-time associates Scott D'Amore and Dutch Mantel back to the company earlier this year. GFW creative is very much Jeff's baby, and it's unclear what will happen to his guys while he's out of the picture, or who'll assume his role at the top of the table.
This could mean a temporary promotion for John Gaburick, who has been out of the picture for the past couple of months, but gained significant power when Jarrett was sent on his leave of absence (according to PWInsider). Anthem had seemingly retained Gaburick as a "plan B" if Jeff didn't work out, and he was at GFW HQ in the aftermath of this week's decision.
Gaburick is a controversial figure himself. Hired in 2013, the former WWE producer was put on blast by AJ Styles shortly after 'The Phenomenal One's' departure from the company. AJ claimed that Gaburick played a big role in his decision to leave TNA, and John's arrival was also concurrent with TNA mainstays Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian leaving, though this may be a coincidence.
