7 Big Things Shane McMahon Could Do To Shake Up WWE

3. Ban The Authority

If Shane McMahon takes over, something€™s gotta give with The Authority. There€™s no way that Shane/Vince/Hunter/Steph can all coexist on one show. Nor would we want them to. Luckily, the idea of evil authority figures in general is the most played out, boring, senseless thing in the entire business, so Shane can just boot them all from his show, and we€™ll only see them at the Hall of Fame inductions and charity events and so forth. Just not on Raw! Shane could go back to how wrestling was presented for decades before Mr. McMahon became a character, and only show up when there€™s a big announcement to make. He€™d play a babyface authority figure that works for the best interest of the company, and enforces rules when need be. He would make the idea of scripted combat make sense within its own universe. Most importantly, his job is to stay the hell out of the way and make the wrestlers the real stars again. For example, if Roman Reigns was a real person, why would he stay with WWE? He gets screwed out of the title every chance he gets, and has the odds ridiculously stacked against him whenever The Authority feels like it. Why wouldn€™t he go to UFC and make a living there? Dana White wouldn€™t book him against four other men at the same time. Have Shane capture the feeling that success comes to the best fighters, and he won€™t personally harm their career. Of course, this is WWE, and the McMahons are the stars, so instead of leaving the company altogether, Hunter and Steph could just go somewhere else...

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
