7 Big Things Shane McMahon Could Do To Shake Up WWE

1. Bring Back WCW!

All right, all right, this is a tremendous long shot, probably something only myself and 40 other people on Earth want, but Shane could resurrect World Championship Wrestling from the grave, and claim that he doesn't even want Raw. Shane wants Nitro, and chooses to air it instead of SmackDown (so WWE could still keep their flagship show). There are very few things the company could do to shake things up more. In 2001, Shane shocked the wrestling world by confirming to his father that a McMahon did indeed own WCW, just not the elder one. He then took it to his pops over the course of five months and came up very, very short. Embarrassingly so. However, he could say he still owns the rights to the company, and wants to make his destiny €œon his own€ and not rely off his father€™s promotion to be successful in the wrestling business. He€™s also learned fro his mistakes and is going to do it right this time. Now, he doesn€™t have to bring back Tony Schiavone, The Nitro girls, and Disco Inferno (although he could!), but he could do something drastically different with the show, which is what the majority of long time fans are looking for. The €œnew company€ could tie in the suggestions from every previous slide to give us something new, and more importantly an alternative to what we see every week on Raw. Vince is in his 70s, and perhaps he really does want both of his kids to own a stake in the company. Let Stephanie and Hunter run Raw their way in real life, and Shane can run SmackDown his way in the decades to come. Some honest competition between the two (as well as working together on big pay-per-views) could be an incredibly successful way to shake up the entire industry.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
