7 Biggest Missed Opportunities From WWE Royal Rumble 2019

5. No Video Packages For Either Royal Rumble Match

The Royal Rumble is one of WWE's finest creations and has provided us with countless memorable moments over the last three decades, so it's no surprise that the company constantly uses the event to remind us of its rich history. They usually introduce the Rumble match with a video package, reminding us of its most dominant competitors, record-setting performances and the event's most memorable moments, while also taking the time to break down the rules of the match itself.

However, this year, there were no video packages attached to either Royal Rumble match. While an argument could be made for not having one before the women's Royal Rumble as it was only the second of its kind, the sheer lack of any buildup promo was noticeable, especially due to the fact that other main event matches received their own packages. Instead, we simply got a lazy title card that broke down the rules of each Rumble.

This ultimately cheapened both of the Royal Rumble matches and almost made them feel less important in comparison to the other main events. It goes without saying that this is not a good way to portray the headlining contests.
