7 Biggest Missed Opportunities From WWE Survivor Series 2018
1. Same Old Finish
To say that the main event of this year's Survivor Series was a two-sided match really is the best way of summing it up. The first half of it was solely dominated by Brock Lesnar while the second half was solely dominated by Daniel Bryan. It certainly wasn't your traditional two-sided match, but it was two-sided nonetheless.
However, it was the second half that had the biggest issue. Why? Well, because it was so much better than the first half, with Bryan rallying - proving that he's a great heel and convincing threat to 'The Beast'. This may sound like the best thing ever - and it was, it really was - but unfortunately, that long well-built flurry was stopped dead in its tracks by, you guessed it, a single F-5.
Too often in Lesnar's matches, his outmatched opponents show real fight and promise, only to fall to an F-5 seconds later. While it made somewhat more sense here, given that Bryan was decimated in the first half of the match, it still left us feeling short-changed after a surprisingly entertaining main event match. There were a ton of other endings that would have worked much better than this tired old concept.
This leaves us wondering how many more times the creative team will recycle this bland, uninteresting device throughout Lesnar's unwanted second Universal title reign.
