7 Classic WWE Moments That Haven't Aged Well

1. D-Generation X Paint Their Faces Black

D-Generation X The Nation Parody
WWE Network

To his credit, Sean Waltman has come out in recent years and apologised profusely for his parody of Mark Henry in 1998. He realises it was insensitive, and understands why some consider the segment racist or offensive.

As part of the D-Generation X entourage mocking their enemies in The Nation, X-Pac "blacked up", wore a bodysuit and scrawled "Mizark" across his chest. The latter two jokes, aimed at Henry's weight and inexperience, are defendable. The decision to go blackface, 1998 or otherwise, is not.

Waltman wasn't the only one either. Road Dogg and Billy Gunn both daubed their faces with paint to give the impression they were D-Lo Brown and The Godfather respectively. Their Nation-bashing banter was hilarious and had the live crowd in stitches, and yet it's a challenge to watch it all unfold now without cringing a little.

Forget blackface: this one will leave you red-faced.
