4. 'Higher Power' Christopher Daniels

All the names poised to become the 'Higher/Greater Power' for The Corporate Ministry in 1999 have become legend over the years amongst wrestling fans. Jake Roberts has been mentioned before and Ted DiBiase has even been rumoured. Bruce Prichard, who was part of the creative core back then, claimed on his podcast they were never in the running.

AEW's Christopher Daniels, however, very much was.

Prichard liked the cut of Daniels' jib so much that he pitched the angle to his boss. As he's traditionally prone to do when people aren't physical giants, Vince McMahon took one look at Chris, glanced back at his lieutenant and remarked that Daniels was "absolutely not" the right choice for the role of guy commanding The Undertaker and troops around.

Vince wasn't impressed by Daniels lack of size or his general look, and he decided to come up with a contingency plan for the 'Higher Power'. His exigency for something fast meant there was only one other option: McMahon himself.
