When Steve Borden changed up his look in 1996 and debuted the character which would become known as 'Crow' Sting, wrestling fans were very excited. There was something mysterious about the new aesthetic, and comparisons were quickly made with The Undertaker. From virtually that moment on, the idea of both colliding inside the ring became something of a 'dream match'.

Hopes of finally seeing it happen were raised when Sting finally put pen to paper on a WWE contract in 2014. In the minds of the masses, the company simply had to put Sting opposite 'Taker and watch the money roll in. After all, fans had been yearning for such a bout for around 20 years.

Recently, Sting has discussed his limited chances of returning to the ring. His last bout came against Seth Rollins at WWE's Night Of Champions in September, 2015. There, the WCW legend suffered a serious neck injury, and he hasn't wrestled since. On WWE's official website, the promotion ran an interview with the iconic grappler, during which he stated that he had hoped to finally wrestle Undertaker at WrestleMania 32.

Injury problems curtailed any proposals for such a match, and there's a chance it may never happen. Could it be a cruel piece of irony that WWE were set to the pull the trigger on the clash, only for Sting to go down with injury at the worst possible time?
