As good as the Fatal-4-Way at SummerSlam was, the match was thrown together by WWE's writing team and acted as a thinly-veiled excuse by the writers to stuff every Raw headliner they could think of into the main-event slot. In terms of preparing Braun Strowman for a one-on-one crack at Brock Lesnar, it worked a treat.

Lesnar vs. Strowman is a match people have been crying out for since Braun began owning the monster heel role on Raw earlier this year. Following his lengthy series opposite Roman Reigns, Strowman needed something a little different. Similarly, Brock required a physical threat larger than he is after making the slightly-smaller Samoa Joe look like a bad ass.

Joe's match with Brock elevated the Samoan, and the same should happen to Braun even in defeat. If nothing else, Strowman challenging for the Universal Title feels overdue, and that's testament to how entertaining he has been as Raw's resident killer.

We're just glad it's not another rematch.
