7 Elaborate WWE Vignettes That Led To Nothing
4. Hirohito
Another character who only ever appeared in vignettes, Hirohito - so named after Japan's emperor during the second World War - briefly came into our lives in early 2004 before being abruptly canned and never, ever mentioned again.
Mostly, this decision appears to have been taken because of the high likelihood of it causing offence, what with Hirohito being an extremely angry man who traveled from Japan with the express purpose of exacting revenge on the United States for the bombings of Nagasaki and Hiroshima.
To make matters worse, they added colour to his promos by overlaying them with footage of soldiers marching during the war, just in case you hadn't picked up on the very subtle clues explaining exactly what this guy was angry about.
Instead, he was repackaged as Kenzo Suzuki a couple of months later, debuting on SmackDown in June. His new gimmick was equally over-the-top, but the war references this time were sensibly kept to a minimum.
