7 Elaborate WWE Vignettes That Led To Nothing
3. Mordecai
Mordecai's shtick was pretty much exactly the same as that of Hade Vansen: he believed himself to God's right hand man, a warrior of the light sent to WWE in order to rid the squared circle of its wrong-doers.
Like Vansen, the character was supposedly being groomed for a long-term programme opposite The Undertaker, who right around this time (2004) had returned to his Deadman gimmick after years in the guise of the more down-to-earth Big Evil.
Only problem was that nobody really took Mordecai seriously. He had the physical presence, but his all-white attire (including bleach blonde eyebrows) looked faintly comical, and his style in the ring never really inspired much awe.
In consequence, he was before long sent back to developmental, from which he returned a couple of years later on ECW, this time as vampire Kevin Thorn. And though his get-up had improved slightly, that didn't stick around long either.
