7 Elaborate WWE Vignettes That Led To Nothing
1. Emmalina
There are conflicting reports about exactly why the Emmalina character - which appeared in a series of vignettes between 2016 and 2017, but never in the ring - ended up being such a disaster.
Some have claimed that Emma herself wasn't entirely committed to the role, although that is perhaps understandable given that every time it seemed to be nearing its debut, we were told she still needed a little fine-tuning (like, were they trying to win an Oscar here?).
Besides, the fact that a performer as talented as Emma needed to be repackaged with an over-the-top gimmick is an indictment on WWE's creative team. She had twice already debuted on the main roster without anything to do.
Sadly, this debacle eventually killed her credibility as a performer, and late last year she was released from her contract altogether. She's now working for Ring Of Honor, where she has already competed for the promotion's newly-created Women's Championship.
