7 Former NXT Wrestlers Who Will Win WWE Gold In 2017

Bray Wyatt is another individual who will have an opportunity this coming Sunday at TLC to be able to call himself a champion for the first time in his WWE career. But unlike Alexa Bliss, he's been a part of the main roster for over three years, and only once has he challenged for championship gold (Money in the Bank 2014). Not even in NXT did he hold gold, which is mind-boggling for someone with such a unique gimmick and exceptional mic skills.

Of course, the argument can be made that his enigmatic character doesn't need to be a champion, and while that is true, he still does deserve to hold gold for all the work he has put into getting the persona over in recent years.

There's also no reason why he can't be a top heel on the SmackDown brand right now. Although AJ Styles is currently in possession of the WWE World Championship, it's possible we see him chasing the championship early on in 2017. But the SmackDown Tag Team Championship are a fine start, and whether it be at TLC or the Royal Rumble or wherever, he will finally win his first title since coming to WWE by 2017.
