7 Gimmick Changes WWE Tried In 2017
4. Jason Jordan
Question: how do you take a young tag star who has been tearing it up in NXT, turn him into one of the most unwanted men on Monday Night Raw, and simultaneously ruin a legend's WWE comeback? Why, you pretend that Jason Jordan is Kurt Angle's son, of course.
Time hasn't eased the pain of this storyline.
Technically, this was a gimmick change for Jordan. He went from being a popular collegiate-style athlete alongside Chad Gable in American Alpha to a crybaby daddy's boy who acts like a spoiled brat. In the process, he lessened the excitement of Angle's return and became less over than he had been before to boot.
WWE are determined to finish the story they started last July. Expect a heel turn from Jordan and a match between 'father and son' on pay-per-view before 2018 is out. Let's just hope it doesn't happen at WrestleMania, because the biggest show of the year is one Angle fans have wanted to see him again on for years.
Wrestling his phoney kid doesn't cut it.
