Survivor Series is theoretically one of the four biggest events of WWE’s year. The last of the ‘Big Four’ in the calendar year, the Thanksgiving extravaganza has been on borrowed time for a number of years however, and it undoubtedly holds less prestige than Royal Rumble, WrestleMania, and SummerSlam.

A surefire way to make it even less prestigious is to have no title bouts on the show. As of right now, Survivor Series 2017 is going to feature a host of ‘champion vs. champion’ matches, all of which will be non-title. Not a single championship will be on the line at the fourth biggest show of the year.

Those 'champion vs. champion' matches also throw up a number of issues. There have been times when these bouts added credibility to championships, but this isn’t going to be the case this year. Unless the show involves a mass of unfulfilling finishes, titles are going to be devalued on 19 November.

Jinder Mahal has already done a number on the WWE Championship. Unless he does the unthinkable in Houston and defeats Brock Lesnar, the most historic title in the game is going to be knocked down another couple of notches.
