7 Matches That Must Happen At NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn

5. Roderick Strong Vs. Adam Cole

It truly seems like a matter of 'when' as opposed to 'if' regarding Adam Cole's switch to NXT. WWE's interest in the 'Panama City Playboy' is no secret, and the only three-time ROH World Champion in history recently expressed a keen desire to work in NXT. It is going to happen, and it is going to happen sooner rather than later.

NXT has worked wonders for the perception of Roderick Strong. Roddy has always been known as an immensely talented wrestler, but he has also always been lacking in character. It took just two vignettes for NXT to change that. Now Roderick Strong is en route to becoming the top babyface in NXT.

All signs point to Strong eventually winning the NXT Championship in emotional circumstances. Brooklyn may well be the place to do it, but one surefire way to have Cole debut as a heel would be to have him screw Roddy out of the title opportunity. Cole and Strong are no strangers to each other having faced off a number of times in ROH and PWG - Brooklyn would be a great spot for a dramatic first meeting in NXT.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
