Speaking of injured superstars returning ahead of time, TM-61's Shane Thorne has been out since January with a serious knee injury. The most optimistic forecast had Thorne returning after nine months out of action, which would have had him come back in September, just missing out on TakeOver: Brooklyn.

Thorne posted a cryptic tweet recently, stating that NXT needs the mighty and that the mighty don't kneel. Does this mean that Thorne is poised to return to NXT? Maybe so, maybe not. If the reality is the former, a match between The Authors of Pain and TM-61 must happen at Brooklyn, and the Aussies must be the ones to hand Akam & Rezar their first defeat.

The assumption is that The Authors will face off against Heavy Machinery next, but in truth that is just because Otis Dozovic and Tucker Knight are the only healthy tag team. A hoss battle between those four could be a lot of fun (it could also be a shambles), but the best possible outcome would be for the former TMDK to return and triumphantly dethrone the dominant AoP.
